Day 6
Day 6: Dec 7th, Monday. Today was a marathon!! Squeezed in my 5K, barely. Some days, I’m just grateful to have made it through! So many appointments and errands! Driving Caiden to and from! Thankful for the time I gave myself on the elliptical. It was the only time I had for myself all day. When was the last time you gave yourself 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 min, or even 5 minutes? Moms, dads, caregivers, and especially special needs parents: often we are so concerned with meeting every one of our child’s needs that we don’t stop to check in ourselves. You can’t give what you don’t have. Be kind to yourself and give yourself a moment to breathe and have a little fun. If a 5k isn’t your idea of fun, then take the time to ask yourself “what is fun for me?” Then carve out 5 minutes of each day to do that 1 fun thing. Create a fun habit! Maybe it’s listening to some music and dancing it out for 5 minutes! Whatever puts a smile on your face! You are too essential, valuable and important to neglect! So take care of you!!!
