Day 8
Never Quit (Dec 9th)
Having lasting joy has little to do with reaching success and everything to do with how you fail. When you fail, how do you respond? As the mom of Caiden, my sweet child with significant disabilities, I have profound experiences with failure. Failure to be healthy, failure to have a “normal” life, failure to meet milestones, failure to thrive. The good news is: these failures DO NOT define me, or my son, how I dust myself off, keep getting back up and moving forward DOES. I am an over-comer! And so are you! This challenge is meant to be difficult because life is difficult. The foot and ankle pain I started to have was tempting me to call the whole thing off. But I have CHOSEN to persist and walk instead of run. Today the persistence is paying off! I had a pain-free light jog and feel great. I know life’s challenges are not quite as simple but in the face of any failure we always have a choice. We can curl up in ball, nurse our wounds and stay down. Or we can take a moment, breathe and get back up again and again and again . . .
