Day 3

day 3.jpg

How do I feel about this challenge on this gray chilly morning? Caiden’s face says it all! But let’s be real, if we wait to “feel” like making the effort to take the time for healthy self-care—it will never happen! But what if we raise the stakes? How do I do that? I make my “Why” more important. That’s why you will see a donate button on Facebook for Caiden’s school, The Meyer Center School for Special Children, on this and all future challenge posts. (The MC, which relies on the generosity of private donors to keep its doors open, has been hard hit by the pandemic.) Now I’m not engaging in this challenge just for my own benefit, but for that of all us parents of special needs parents who depend on wonderful schools like The Meyer Center to help our children reach their full potential! In essence, I have leveled up my “Why”.
So when my muscles are weary and sore, I will choose to struggle through my 5k because it matters that much more! How can you make your “why” more important, more urgent? Choose a “why” that is too important to allow your feelings to get in the way. How about helping fundraise for Caiden’s school? Just an idea!
