Day 12

Friends

Friends

One of the few things we get to choose in life are our friends. Yet the old adage “good friends are hard to find...” is so true. I’m new to Greenville, SC and making new friends at my age is especially hard. And when you have a child with special needs, your options are even more limited. I’m so blessed to have met this lady! Robin is also the mom of a beautiful boy with special needs, similar to Caiden’s. And she also happens to be fabulous! I forced her to walk with me today and she was so gracious about it. Also, it’s so great to not have to pretend like everything is fine. I haven’t got the energy to pretend anymore. Robin is the kind of friend who allows me to be unapologetically myself. Masks are the killer of true friendships. Think on your friendships for a minute. Do you have to wear a mask with some of your friends in order to feel accepted? If so, is this a friendship truly worth keeping?
